I know I’m supposed to be humble or should I say tame
But I’m positive it’s negative to stay in that mind frame
I’m trying to raise the consciousness of my black brothers
So we don’t continue to look negatively at one another
Negativity is usually associated with the color black
That doesn’t mean we should be ashamed of the skin on our back
It’s hard when everywhere you look
The color black has a negative hook
The bad guys always wear a black hat
It’s bad luck to cross a black cat
It’s illegal to shop on the black market
Get blackballed and you’re an exiled target
Negativity associated with black has a long list
It’s ingrained from birth in our consciousness
With that negativity in the back of our mind
We develop a negative outlook on our own kind
Those negatives can become an inspiring plus
If we use them as inspiration to unite us
History shows how astonishingly strong we are
The most willful and resilient by far
After all as a people we’ve had to endure
We should never be ashamed or unsure
Our confidence and pride should be sky high
Uniting us as a heroic one until the day we die
Every brother should stand together and shout
Let the world know we refuse to be blacked out
If we want it everything is positively ours to get
First we have to change our negative mind set
Power can be obtained if we stand together
Positively exalting Black Power forever
