Contrasting Moods

When I awoke this morning
The world had a different feel.
Yesterday was brightness and sunshine,
Today is bereft of that magic appeal.
Everything has a grey quality;
The sky is no longer blue
The world it seems is in mourning for summer
That has taken my heart along with it too.
Tomorrow it still may be cloudy,
Yet my world feel light and free
If summer returns to my heart once more
Bringing back joy and gladness to me.

Hi Sylvia, A lovely read - we sometimes have 4 seasons in one day, always safer to carry an umbrella and a jersey in your car. Wishing you and your family, a very happy Christmas Sylvia, filled with joy and God's richest blessings. Lots of hugs, Jennifer. I shall never forget the encouragement you gave me when I was still new at poetry soup.

The weather is very unpredictable indeed, sometimes leaving a heart feeling a bit low. However, brighter moments caress the sky. They always do, when the time is right. May the sunshine touch your heart and your world. :) Soon. This is so beautifully written and presented. ~ Brandy

I have known this feeling lately where I live. It became cold, cloudy and wet when it is normally warm and sunny. Fortunately, the warm and sunny did finally return. Nicely done, I really enjoyed your poem on this theme.
