Chaos In the Calmness

There is a strange calmness in the chaos,
Clashing of voices is as soothing as Club Med.
There is a towering chaos in the calmness,
I am drowning in the thoughts that fill my head.

Its like there is a vicious battle going on in my mind,
As if my right brain is trying to conquer its better half.
In all the carnage my ability to live got left behind,
Everyone tells me I am looking better and I laugh.

If only the inside matched the outside.
If only my heart and my mind were on the same page.
If only my intellect wasn't served up pan-fried,
If only I didn't feel like the troubled version of Nicholas Cage

There is no magic pill to make the chaos go away,
There is no clear path on which to stay.
I can only live to the fullest each and every day,
And believe that someday I will be okay.
