Apathy

A blank stare,
A cold glare.
And still I wonder what you think.

My short life,
With your knife.
I hope you see what you've done to me.

Because with every single verbal abuse,
I've given you a golden excuse.
Half an apology,
Sorry that's not enough for me.

I'm never gonna be what you expected,
And you'll never see how I'm effected.
I'm sorry to have to leave you,
But honey you had to be cruel.

So I'm gonna get good and gone,
Baby this is my last "So long!"
I'm undoing what you've done to me,
Tell me have I broken your apathy?

Your apathy...
Your apathy...
I hope to God I've broken your apathy...

So revise,
Your retries.
Explain to me what I already know.

And this time,
We'll rewind.
Relive all the things you've done to me.

Promise me that things will change,
Give me our lives rearranged.
Well I've gone past the point of no return,
And I hope you've learned...

That in the middle of the night,
When I needed us not to fight.
I didn't do it so I could have fun for awhile,
I did for a chance at survival.

So I'm gonna get good and gone,
Baby this is my last "So long!"
I'm undoing what you've done to me,
Tell me have I broken your apathy?

Your apathy...
Your apathy...
Cold and gone, I've broken your apathy...
