True Colors

True Colors

Some people in life just try to hurt others
Get close to them
Into there life
Into there heart

It hurts to know someone is not whom
They really are
Like a sign
In the middle of now where

Being toyed with guy to guy
Had taken its toll on me tonight

They’ll text you all caring and sweet
Then not text for a couple of days
that’s there game
And I’m sick of it!

I liked him because he was interested
In “ME”
Not video games, not anything but
ME!!
So I dumped my old guy for the new one
Thinking it would be different
Just this once

But now I’ve come to the
Realization that he’s played his
Lil game on me
And it hurts soo bad

I don’t really cry often
Till now
I hate feeling weak&fooled

I’ve never seen myself so angry
At someone
I wanted to actually hurt
A human being
I’m never, ever, violent

People aren’t who they seem
Till you really get to know
Them and then there
True feelings, actions, and mind
Come to the picture

And that hurts the most

Sarah

How true, Sarah. People often aren't who they seem to be. You have an important message in your poem and the song "True Colors" has always been one of my favorites. Best wishes, Carolyn
