M-O-T-H-E-R

M-O-T-H-E-R

“M” is for all the material things she gave me
“O” means only she sees the real me
“T” is for tears she shed
“H” is for heartfelt words in time of need
“E” is for her emerald eyes, filled with love so indestructible;
“R” is for her remarkable perseverance when the going gets tough
Put them all together; it spells
‘MOTHER’
A job that has so much devotion, and evolvement is the hardest jobs of them all.

Through Her Blue Eyes

As she wakes up, to get to school
She sees a girl in the foggy, glass mirror
Wet blonde hair, blue eyes, her dad’s nose, her mom’s features…
But in her mind she sees ugly, plain, average….

People tell her she’s gorgeous, stunning
But she declines the compliments
She gets on the scale
And sees the digits to high
And starts to cry

She assumes people judge her
From childhood mistakes
Her friends tell her she’s skinny
But they don’t see the blob forming
When she sits

She watches celebrities on TV
Skinny, toned, perfect
But none of them have a figure like her
She barley watches what’s on the screen
When she hears a voice
“ God, your so ugly!”
She ignores the voice and go finds her guy friends

They start to pick and criticize her,
But she doesn’t know how to stand up for herself

She tries to brush it off
But inside she’s ashamed
The words of her guy friends keeps coming back
Like an annoying bug

She goes and finds her other friends,
The girls are judging and picking her apart
Saying treacherous, unpleasant words
Feeling lousy, her confidence reaches such a negativity,
She starts to believe everything they’ve said to her

Red Blood On the Battlefield

As she laid their, withering, Her mind in a fog, She stared at the dissembled body, of the one she once loved, The blaring sounds of bombs, shouts in the distance, and thundering gun shots The woman screams at the man to wake up, shakes at the broad man as she cries uncontrollably But all he hears is the deafening sound of a grenade blowup, At the break point of dieing his last thoughts, memories were of a woman and child. Men come over to take the woman away, as she fights to see him, She looks at the man, tears in her brown eyes, to see him being taken to a hospital wing, tear stains on his sunburned cheeks She comes to see the man, the smells of Latex and death As she walks over to his bed, She falls to her knees Her heart in retching pain She closes her delicate eyes and opens them to see a sheet over a body, not breathing nor stirring and a round object, glittering in the sunlight She picks it up, in rough, muddy hands It's an uneven medal, shaped like a heart, material of purple of a remember solider

Ignored&&Rejected

Ignored&&Rejected
By: Sarah

I’ve always tried to fit in
Trying to be friends with everyone
But 2 guys start to be my friends
Then blow me off in 2 weeks

The first guy lead me on from the start
From his texts….constantly flirting……
To his eyes……smoldering green and mixed with golden brown
To his personality…and his laughing, carefree spirit
And bam!! Drops me like a bomb.
Haven’t heard from him since…
And I try to hold on to something
But it was never there

The second guy wasn’t so bad
He flirted
Didn’t ignore me at all…
Like me….sorta
And the same thing except its falling
Into the deadly pattern as the first

Why do they do this I ask?!
I want to know the reason why!!

These thoughts race in my head
Day after day
Without ever stopping
Like an endless Farris wheel

Did I do something wrong?
Don’t you like me?
Did I push you away?

The real question is:

Why, Grant?
Why, Devyn?
    Why?……

As Days Flew By

As days flew by I have missed you so
You see sand and wind
Love ones are lost without you

Holidays come and go
And still our hearts lie with you
Some days we miss your happiness
And weep when hearing your voice

We wonder what it's like over there
To even get up on some days
Children in streets, happy to see you

Women dressed in foreign clothes
Men with guns and gear
You go to work and see your kids picture
And start to sob

Family's that have loved ones live with this
But they never forget
When someone has served their rights

Wife's feel like their heart has been ripped
Children pray
Friends wait

Until finally the solider returns
Family's reunite
Children weep uncontrollably
Friend's rejoice that God has blessed them
To have their soldier back home safe

True Colors

True Colors

Some people in life just try to hurt others
Get close to them
Into there life
Into there heart

It hurts to know someone is not whom
They really are
Like a sign
In the middle of now where

Being toyed with guy to guy
Had taken its toll on me tonight

They’ll text you all caring and sweet
Then not text for a couple of days
that’s there game
And I’m sick of it!

I liked him because he was interested
In “ME”
Not video games, not anything but
ME!!
So I dumped my old guy for the new one
Thinking it would be different
Just this once

But now I’ve come to the
Realization that he’s played his
Lil game on me
And it hurts soo bad

I don’t really cry often
Till now
I hate feeling weak&fooled

I’ve never seen myself so angry
At someone
I wanted to actually hurt
A human being
I’m never, ever, violent

People aren’t who they seem
Till you really get to know
Them and then there
True feelings, actions, and mind
Come to the picture

And that hurts the most
