What was I made for
I’ve been there for everyone
Even those who never stayed for me.
I fake a laugh so they feel seen—
While I wonder if I even am.
I lift others when they’re down,
Because I know how it feels to drown,
To be invisible—until you mess up,
Then suddenly, you’re all they talk about.
Always the second choice,
The backup when silence fills the void.
You learn to hold your peace,
While your heart quietly breaks in pieces.
Insecurities fed by “jokes” that cut deep,
Weapons disguised in laughter’s reach.
You cry yourself into the night,
Then wake up with a practiced light.
Smiling through the ache you hide,
While anxiety and pain scream inside.
Still you ask, with a heart so sore,
"What was I even made for?"
