Liquid Gold
LIQUID GOLD
I’ve taken on a mistress,
Something I never thought I’d do;
I’ve taken on a mistress,
She has nothing to do with you.
She fits so neatly in the palm of my hand,
She embodies shades of liquid gold
Comes in a bottle or a can;
“Just One More” there’s a case of them
In an ol’ cooler or stacked on the floor;
I’ve taken on a mistress
Could a man ask for anything more?
I can’t explain the lure
Or the hold she has on me;
And it only takes a moment
For her to spend the day with me.
My mistress is ever so loyal
She never leaves my side
She taught me to use the word,
Deny, deny deny.
I’ve taken on a mistress
She has really changed my life;
She sedates all my emotions
Ensures I’m always right.
She took away my gentleness,
My kind and loving heart
Replaced it with the stealthness
Of a poisoned arrow dart;
She reminds me everyday
The weakness of my wife;
Who fails to understand the changes
I’ve made in both our lives.
I’ve taken on a mistress
Something I never thought I’d do
I’ve taken on a mistress
She has nothing to do with you.
