Devotion

Here I lay faced between love and loyalty.
Love, I took years in my life learning you.
Making my heart race and spin thinking of you.
Does anyone else remember like me?
Do they know the struggles you endure with a closed soul.
I can only imagine from a safe distance.
I loved you… it’s been you for years baby.

Loyalty, when I pursued others you still laid deep in my heart.
Embedded tissue deep of my mind.
I still thought of you. When I didn’t feel whole I always called you.
5 years of merciless pleas cause I felt my existence must lay with you.
I never second thought or had any hatred.
Still after this long time I would remain foolish and still wait for you.
“ Can we try again “ ?

My dearest, I forgive you always cause I can’t forgive myself.
No matter how many times things go wrong,
my devotion never turned away from you.
I confine myself to still have a small flame of hope.
Just to see your sweet smile once more.
