Synapses

Sit beside me, anywhere.
My love for you is everywhere.
I see the energy that is you.
I feel the energy between.

Now, were you there in outer space?
There is a synapse in my brain.
A spark of fire from there to here.

SIGNAL TRANSMISSION
AT A CHEMICAL SYNAPSE

A spark of fire from here to there.
There is a synapse in my brain.
Now, were you there in outer space?

I feel the energy between.
I see the energy that is you.
My love for you is everywhere.
Sit beisde me, anywhere.

A striking, meditative palindrome-like structure: the poem travels outward through neural “signal transmission” and then returns, making intimacy feel both physical and cosmic. I love how the repeated lines become charged differently on their return—especially “outer space,” which turns from distance into the space between two consciousnesses.
