Shouldn't've Confessed

I shouldn't have confessed that i loved you,
for now my heart aches with a burning blue ,
i wrote each and every word with nothing but the foolish truth,
and now look at me, i am the fool.

i had thought you felt the same,
but now i see it was all in vain,
for you my love was just a game,
and i another pawn in your play.

i drank my own poison,
choosing to live in a lie rather than have us die
