The Blue Whale Sea

As large as the brightest skies,
As deep as the ocean blues,
Lay the vast marine world,
Under the abyssal sapphire hues.

The top shone in the golden glow,
Where the fish, shrimp and the jellies show,
The depth shimmered in dark-dusty tones,
Where the big blue whales quietly flow.

Large and wild, described in tales,
Gliding in depths, diving the waves,
Two fins, a tail, and its mystical ventral pleats,
It drifts and swirls in the silent haze.

Through the endless navy main, it quietly fades,
Living in the depths, hidden from the face,
Too heavy to turn up and fight the past veils,
The whale stayed put in the darkest caves.

Then peeked through the depths a soft, sleek ray,
Whose blonde-pastel light, found the bluish-grey,
High above the surface, lightly it shone,
Resolved to unveil the mask on its way.

Gentle and sturdy, sweeping through the sail,
It quietly pierced through the deep coastal trail,
To find the sunbeam sprinkling some shine,
It sang through the dawn and danced its tail.

The surface, too lively and happy with cheer,
Unlike the caves that kept it in the rear,
The bluish-grey returned to its layers,
Hoping to return, amidst the age-old fears.
