Why I Should Be Your Wife

I will explain why I should be your wife.
I can be your daily dose of sunshine.
Cuz you will be the reason for my life.
All that I need is for you to be mine.
Because, you see, it won’t be about me.
It will be about us throughout our time.
Through troubling and bad times, I will not flee.
It matters not if you don’t have a dime.
I know our love will keep us together.
The day we met, it was love at first site.
Our hearts both felt as light as a feather.
You know, we both felt as high as a kite.
The past for us both has been so much stress.
It’s time we should marry for God to bless.

Hello Ida. Thanks for sharing this. Brilliant. Sonnet in Shakesperian style in which you express such deep feelings. It's good to see traditional sonnet format. Hope to read more of these from you. Tony
