Turmoil

Starlight
Like sequins on a
Dress

A gown of
Black
Across
The water

A blanket fastened
To unknown
No light, no shadows
In the blackness
Of the universe

No one will ever
Know
The secrets
In its depths

Night
Willing to be forgotten
Reminding us we’re alive
