Where the Madness Lies

I am floating alone
Untarnished and predisposed
To flail about
Till the freaks find out
I’ve been shedding all my clothes

Where the madness lies
In my skin, my thighs
I’ll make a break
I will laugh and wait
As my soul bursts from my eyes

I am tangled deep
Trying to free my feet
But these sheets, they tear
And they whisper, I fear
The thoughts I can’t bear to repeat

We are buried inside
Snug, stuck as we hide
Can’t bear to provoke
For fear we may rock the yoke
Our shell keeps us from coming alive

So sail in your boat
Atop your majestic muddy moat
And whistle and cry
As you sweetly deny
That your vessel, it never could float
