Ode to love a grandmother

As years go by the more I think
About how one minute I was 5 and now I'm 28,
You watched me grow always been by my side,
Now to think your still here making sure we get by,
Working, and working hard for our family to thrive,
To think you are our rock,
Your like our glue that sticks us together,
Like glitter on a piece of paper,
You are so strong
I learned it from you,
You took my hand through hard times and made sure I got through,
You, I don't say it enough but I notice,
I notice you try to keep a smile on your face,
Your over worked, overwhelmed as you try to keep faith,
Yes I know you've been reading the Bible,
More and more as the days go by,
And for some reason it scares me cuz life moves so fast,
and its not as long as we thought it was when growing up,
I just wanted to be older,
Wanted to be an adult,
Now seeing you age,
The thought of you fading tears at me to the core,
Life isn't forever but sometimes I pray yours was,
Cuz if it's forever you'll be by my side,
and I won't be so scared as the years pass us by,
Nan you were there when mom and dad wasn't,
You were there when all the light darkened you didn't know at the time,
And neither did I but you were there,
You were there the whole time,
Your still here but as the years turn and the world moves slowly,
it feels like it's speeding up,
the world is beginning to feel more and more lonely,
When you go I don't want to be here,
I don't want to watch your final breath fade cuz to me I don't think nothing can take away that pain,
To me you were my mother, you raised me and tried to keep me from harms way,
You were the one,
You are our rock
You are glue,
And the sparkle in our eyes,
And I truly don't think I can ever say good bye
