Broken China Doll

Broken China doll,

Your face is cracked and creased,

it seems your beauty has died,

as the spider webs have increased.

Broken China doll,

the paint on you is fading,

as shadows set place,

these old memories are waning.

Broken China doll,

your face used to shine bright.

One day some one will find you,

to fill your cracks with light.

Broken China doll,

You once bathed in words and company;

so promising and serene.

Now lost and forgotten,

your beauty is unseen.

Broken China doll,

Please do not die,

and deteriorate from within;

because beauty still grows even in a darkening dim.

I like this one, my memaw died when I was 11, and her doll collection was so special to her, she left them to all us grand daughters, I have 2 of them on a shel in my room. I remember when I was little she had a huge display of them, she named them and took such great care of them!
