A Deserved Redemption (Dedication To Craigery Michael Owens)

As daylight fades behind a fractured beauty,
Lights flash and hands in the air,
Hearts collide while shadows search through the night,
Reaching out for something to hold,
But all you got was an empty feeling,

The breath you gave was not wasted,
We heard you screaming out,
For something to believe in,
A mix of a motion your arms wide open,

Your light will find its way,
Just open your day and let everything fall into place,
While Shakespeare spoke,
You sang them and took their breath away,
The world is just a stage; you existed because you dreamed,
But you dream no more,

You forget the people you aloud to dream,
The people you inspired, the future,
The second most beautiful thing, music,
Legends never die while you reach out in the night,
Pull her close, and let her hear the song you speak,
Never let go, family comes first,

For you have turned many raw,
But none come near to as naked as you,
Beautiful you walked on the people that loved you,
As they cry out for more, they enjoyed it,
Your own worst critic,

You, seek redemption for yourself, as most the world should,
As the music fades you’re left with people staring,
I will not ask you about empty,
Most words are,

I wouldn’t last a minute on the creek,
I was just hoping these words could move you,
To see the light you have given me,
The heart and passion that kept me alive,

While inspiration taught me to play,
You kept me beating,
To miss voice like yours,
I guess I'll just cope with what I can't control,
You brought me back to life.

Thank you for your words,
The simple essence of your being,
The footprint you left, subtler than most,
Lyrically renowned, Innocence was lost long ago.

(Dedicated to Craigery Michael Owens- an amazing musician, profound human being with
open eyes)
