That Was Then, This Is Now

That was then,
When,
I played with a doll,
And used a pretend phone to make a call.
I had a favorite stuffed dog,
And had fun chasing a slimy, green frog.
I played dress up,
And drank from a sippy cup.
I learned how to walk,
And figured out how to talk.
I rode in a toy car,
But I couldn't go very far.

This is now,
How,
I go to work,
And cook my own pork.
I drive a car,
And drink at the bar.
I take care of my pets,
And have lots of debts.
I get dressed myself,
And reach the top shelf.
I Baby-sit my nephew and niece,
And travel to Greece.

Back then, I was a little girl,
Who loved to twirl.
Now, I am all grown,
And living on my own.
