Good Enough
You broke her - just like I said you would
You took advantage of every opportunity to
spin the narrative in your favor
To make your stories become her stories
Slowly, your beliefs became hers
You broke my best friend
My future
And the only woman I ever truly loved
The only human I have ever known who accepted
me as I am
You broke her beliefs and hopes and replaced them
with your own
You blamed me until she believed you
You ruined something beautiful and hard to find just to
retain control
You made her choose to accept half loves and half a life
Minus honesty, loyalty, and respect
All because you decided years ago
That I wasn't good enough
