Proud

Lost in the Chaos of my brain
I searched for peace
All the pain, loss and and darkness
Was a familiar beast

The rage that once consumed me
Had opened its eyes
I wanted to feed it
All the broken promises and lies

When you have nothing more to lose
You want to take it all back
I know how it would end
My demons the path

My heart would turn black
My soul I would sell
There would be no winner
No heroic stories to tell

So I took a breath of calmness
Gathered what little hope I could find
Chose a different route
Stumble on some peace of mind

All of this I learned
From and angel long ago
Whispered I found the answer
And heard her say I already know

So the clouds rolled away
The Chaos returned to calm
There's new star in the sky
Right where he belongs

I hope now as they all look down
A smile covers there face
I chose the the right path
Heading towards the right place
