My Sweet, Spiritual Genevieve

My faith was shaken
After nearly being run off the road
I had lost all belief in humanity
That was until today
When I met my sweet, spiritual Genevieve
She lent an ear for me to unload

We discussed the Lord
And how He's good
alllll the time in alllll his ways
We spoke of anger, betrayal and people lashing out across the globe.
When all anyone really needs is a trusted, loving hand to hold.
Talk to the Big Man Upstairs ALREADY who never leaves us in the cold.

It's impossible to blame Him
When things don't go my way
We're of free will after all and choose the paths we take.

When getting derailed, trust me on this one,
He unflinchingly gets me back on track.
Our omnipresent God is in control of everything
So I've learned to step back and let His angels spread their wings

I've surrendered my heart and selfish ways
that bring me no comfort and lead to nowhere
I trust in His timing.
I know he's listening and truly cares.
Don't believe me?
I have powerful testimony to share.

A deep-seated thanks to plainclothes Genevieve
who walks among us
without asking for offerings.
Today, she rushed to my aid
without thinking twice.

Oh, she is ever so faithful and kind.
My Sweet, spiritual Genevieve
