My Name is Girl by Amenah Manzoor

My name is “Girl”
A girl with wings
I had a pearl
A pearl filled with inks

I had a dream 
A dream to fly
I heard a scream
A scream, nothing but a lie

I am blessed with a gift
A gift to express
Then I feel some magical drift
A drift want’d me to suppress

But you know I am a girl 
A girl who will rise
I would fly and whirl 
Whirl and mesmerise
