Alive

If every move I make is wrong
maybe I should just freeze in place,
waiting for that Knight to come along,
the one with the obscure face.
Half blind and almost deaf
I see no banners in the sky
only the kind that come into view
momentairly then pass by.
'I don't know how to do this!' she cries,
I don't know anything at all.
But in my heart I know I'm alive,
at least until that sharp blade falls.
"Off with her head!"

we all suffer from this, it's called hope and shyness. it's when cupids arrow cuts your clothes but not you. i like this piece, it's deep in the right places. John H Loving III
