Helen Beck Poem
If every move I make is wrong
maybe I should just freeze in place,
waiting for that Knight to come along,
the one with the obscure face.
Half blind and almost deaf
I see no banners in the sky
only the kind that come into view
momentairly then pass by.
'I don't know how to do this!' she cries,
I don't know anything at all.
But in my heart I know I'm alive,
at least until that sharp blade falls.
"Off with her head!"
