Monsters

I can see it in you, as you try to run away.
Your pulse quickening, I can taste the fear in the air.
The sweat. The scent.
This fear towards this monster.
This monster you have created.
But it is useless trying to run away,
For you are you.
And you cannot run from yourself.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Anna, Don't you believe it!!! I've been successfully running away from myself for more than 40 years. Every time I get close to me, I change direction and it takes me a while to catch up. Years sometimes. And while it's true I can always take a look and know where I am, I can usually manage to close my eyes until that urge passes. Still, you write nice and make me feel like I ought to grow up. Love ya, Will

great imagery, but you can improve more on your choice of words, but nonetheless a great work.
