If Only I Was a Boy

If only I were a boy
I wouldn't have to deal with the stares
the following
the degrading remarks
the rumors
If only I were a Boy
words i have prayed since i was a young girl
sometimes wondering
if life would be better
with a deeper voice
flatter chest
muscles
short hair
I've come to the conclusion that it would
because if I were a boy
then maybe she would love me back
