Will the Last one be free

You can’t blame me if sometimes - I wonder why you cause me such hurt and misery
Your swinging doors are always locked by midnight
When you toss me out and throw away the key

The songs on the juke box drive me crazy
And the whiskey makes better I suppose
Each night the past comes back in time to haunt me
for a broken heart, that’s the way it goes

Will the last one be free if I’m leaving
My memories and the bottle is killing me
The glamor of your nightlife, so imposing
When I go, will the last one be free

I look in the mirror and I - wonder
Are these lines on my face so plain to see
Each line runs a highway to destruction
And the end of the road is calling me

I set here alone at my table
And wonder why I feel the way I fee That neon light flashing in the window Welcomes me to a life that’s never real
