The Writer In Me, Wants You To Know

The Writer In Me, Wants You To Know
7/31/2021

Mom, they called me
I was only nineteen listening to everyone talk about their problems
They hauled so many burdens
until I was able to release them.

What about my problems?
I sit in front of my mirror
talking to a face looking back at me
working through our problems together.

Their burdens become my burdens
I work through them all by talking to the face in the mirror.
Lonely, as I sit and cry to my therapist in the mirror
Only nineteen and in college getting a degree

I do not want to be the therapist
Because I am the one who needs therapy
The mirror is going to break as it is full of secrets
No one knows that the girl behind the mirror is desperate
For a therapist.
