Reflection

I see your face everywhere I look
Your eyes haunt my days and nights
Do I know you? I feel that I should. Who are you?
The intense sadness, the desperate loneliness
You seem so familiar, yet I struggle to remember
I feel your despair, the emptiness deep inside your soul
Feeling bereft, I turn off the light, the reflection in the mirror vanishes into the darkness

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Hi Carolyn, I beg to differ when you said that poetry did not love you. Your poems are very soul searching and touched me as I read them. Keep them coming! Have a beautiful day. Cheers Anne :-)

We should know ourselves...but we should also remain humble and aware. No matter what we think, so much of our success, and protection is the Grace of God. We deserve nothing. Very well written. You will get beyond this. Excellent writing.
