Lepidopterian Wisdom

A naïve and pale butterfly
       In disappointment left the sky,
Her lover, gentle blue July,
Turned quickly pallid pink, and died.
The silly insect wasn’t wise,
When flew to look for a paradise
Because the end of this ones’ road
Was the sticky mouth of a toad.
