The Look of the Eyes Tell the Story

I looked in her eyes and they told the story,
Here sat this little puppy in all her glory.
If only someone would have listened and cared,
But as they walked by they just whispered and stared.
Here I was all dirty, ragged and sad,
All I needed was a loving family to make me glad.
I was hungry, and cold, no warm bed to lye down,
Please remind me again “Why am I still around?”
I can be as faithful as you want me to be,
Just give me half of chance and you would see.
I would bring you the ball, newspaper and slippers that are new,
Roll on my back for a belly rub or two.
When you go out the door and say goodbye,
I will be there waiting with a watchful eye.
And when you come home, and come through that door,
What a welcome home it would be and a whole lot more.
Now this is my story, and now you all know,
Just how someone put me on the street and told me to go!
I have so much love to give someone and lots of hugs too,
Who’s going to accept them, will it be you?
You see puppies have feelings, and their devotion is so great,
Just adopt that special puppy, and he will show you its not too late.
