Wasted Life

As I recall so long ago
Those words you spoke to me
I realize now what you mean
But its far too late for me

You tried to fix my world
But I just ran and hid
And all those times you cried
Was all cause of what I did

I don't care what anyone says
These days aren't the worst
We can find our way home
Even if we have to die first

Truth was sweet on your lips
Don't be fooled by what you heard
Too much talk, and we both know
A pictures worth a thousand words

Wasted life believing the lies
Now its too late in the day
Children put away your toys
Now bow your heads to pray

I don't care what anyone says
These days aren't the worst
We can find our way home
Even if we have to die first

Wonderful poem Daniel! I really enjoyed it, and such great insight :) My favorite line, "Too much talk, and we both know, A picture's worth a thousand words..." just brilliant :) keep writing, Love, J.
