One Homeless Man

A tribute to the homeless..........

I watched as he
came ambling along
his face kinda weathered
yet still very strong
the traffic was slow as he
came down the street
and then I saw he had
no shoes on his feet
he seem not to care
as he came my way
and all I could do was
stand there and pray
he had not a dime
no money he owned
and you could tell by looking
that he had no home
but the smile that he gave
as he went on his way
will remain in my heart
for the rest of my days.......

I liked it then (2020), and I like it now. Well-written, Doris! :) gw

It is unfortunate that their numbers appear to be on the rise. They are in every large city in the country; even Honolulu, Hawaii. Nice write.

Wow, Doris, I really really liked this very meaningful poem. Good use of the rhymes, too.

Wonderful Doris, everyone has a heart whether they be well heeled or not, all people are equal in the eyes of God. Belle

Hello Doris … certainly a nice verse to remind us we are all humans and shoudn’t judge others by wealth. You did a great thing here Doris - thank you - Lindsay

Indeed, everyone has something of value to give. Nicely penned, Doris. Heartwarming, Gershon
