Escaping the Inevitable

No reason to fool me
For I foreseen all of the rules that be
Here to wrap me, tie me as a remedy
Blind me so that they can see
Be two steps ahead to finding my key

The grip of the ties led me to bled
I bruise in hopes to fled
Silence chokes me instead
Screams deflect the food I am fed

A fantasy of freedom
Distracts me from what is to come
Trying to remain smart, even when they dumb

Down my capabilities to run
As if my restraints are something fun

The risk is better than death

My mouth was my way to flee
I beat fear until it is dead
The thoughts in my mind turned into a kingdom
I ran until I embraced the sun
That is when I took my first breath

Julia, writing is therapy. For me - now 61 - it saved me and deepened my faith (In Jesus, as it clarified matters as I wrote). The cycle seems relentless, but so glad U do not invite pity. Maybe our empathy

Powerful feelings and "dreams." Always tough to achieve ... but U show courage, and the last stanza is a monument to resilience & boldness (or staring fear down). shalom, shalOM
