Mirror

Mirror
As I look in the mirror
Who do I see
Someone different
Who used to be me

I know its me
Because I feel the emotion
But the image still causes a commotion

My aim is great
To just be alive
But the treatment they gave me
Took me by surprise

Its not the disease
That hurts the most
But when you look in the mirror
I see a ghost

I have since be re booted
And don't look the same
As long as I remember my nature and name
This is something I will always have
And cant be taken as I stay on this path.

Hello Janice Johnston, you have the passion to create poetry. So keep on writing. Yes poetry does come straight from the heart. Write what you feel. Have a nice day my friend. My sister had lung surgery and she is doing well and getting stronger every day, I sense that you will to, Have a nice day my friend.

Hello Janice Johnstone, I just read your poem. What counts is getting the treatment you need to feel better. You are strong and will get through this. Have a nice day my friend.

Keep writing, I apologize on behalf of my fellow poets. They read poems, wipe their feet on them and move on. This really bothers me for you. But you are a survivor and that's way bigger than any Poem here ever wrote. Including winners of contests and POTDs. Maybe if they had to fight cancer and lose hair they WOULD understand.best they would show love RATHER than write about it, no? Panagiota xx I see silly poems here drooled over. You keep writing, woman! Panagiota
