Memories

Memories can make you smile,
with thoughts of days gone by.
Memories can make you sad,
and bring a tear to your eye.
Memories can brighten your day,
with thoughts of times far away.
Memories are part of everyday life,
a way to handle the joys and strife.
Memories are tales we all share,
a way to show each other we care.
Without memories there's onlly sorrow,
no yesterdays, only tomorrows.
I still see you every day,
memories sometimes work that way.
Feelings for you will never go away,
my love for you is here to stay.
So darling I miss you so,
the memories of watching you grow.
I still have your things,
a small bit of you, to which I cling.
Since first I held you in my arms,
I knew I'd fallen under your charms.
My memories lighten my spirits so much,
I need my yesterdays to stay in touch.
Memories are there to reassure,
Memories are everyone's treasure.
