Twilight of Thorns

Cursed stars within the blight.
Slashing through the shell of the daylight.
Owl song spreads through the wind.
Carrying each note through cold, deafening nothingness.
Willow trees drop their hair in the gale.
Swaying to and fro under the moon, full and pale.

Like promises to nothing.
The grass waves to the silence.
Beauty as they dance in sync.
Sweating dewdrops from their skins.
Slowly,time flyies through the empty.
Fully flowing in blinding sight.

Through a hollow and merciless night.
Cutting their wings on 12:00.
Bleeding out each hour.
Healing wounds in seconds.
Growing scars in the minutes left behind.
Somewhere where none can find them.

They are promises to nothing.
Like reflections in a pond.
Rippling with movement without moving at all.
Crashing against the land.
Only to be put back so far.
Fireflies set ablaze the lifeless space.

Watch it burn, watch it glow, leave it unfazed.
Over my fate,undone and erased.
Before the sun.
All in one moonless night.
