Diarra Boatswain Poem
Awoken by the sun shining through the ocean surface.
My scales give off a glow.
Good morning to the blue.
A mirror of the sky.
Spiraling endlessly upwards and downwards.
Further and further I go.
Coral labyrinths surround me.
Hiding small lives in themselves.
The growing forest of the reefs seem to rise and bend.
Where no one reaches.
Darkness below hides secrets far beyond the unknown.
Whales shall embark on a journey to where a new world meets.
Tell me if I should go,should I follow them?
Or await for the clown fish to sleep in anemones.
I'll take off to the roars of the lion fish.
Feel Poseidon's currents push me with ease.
Until I can feel the beach breeze.
Vast is the world I live in.
Where shells are the households of those within.
Deeper and deeper I go.
Past the squid,past the octopus.
Here is where many are destined to go blind.
The jellyfish stars come out.
Once the sea turns into the night sky.
On the surface down below is where I lie.
Far from where my tail drags behind me.
Everything fades into illumination as my eyes close before me.
My dreams are covered in the brightest dark.
And everything comes to a stop.

Diarra Boatswain Poem
We've waited too long to starve.
We don't instigate you to feel alarmed at our presence.
You won't be brave for long.
They say that birds of a feather should always flock together.
Oh please, you know that this isn't the case.
Its all been erased from our minds.
So says these black wings of ours.
That can't be outgrown.
You must of all been alone, lost in your vanity's time.
Those pink feathers can't pick up the pieces.
Water dances are your only releases.
Soon,we'll take no more.
Soon,you'll hit the ground.
Show offs are you then?
We'll take that from you.
How are we supposed to feel when all they see in us is black?
We don't want to look in the water and see our shadows looking back.
Your dissonance has gone too far.
We won't let you distract yourselves any longer.
The predators are closing in on you all.
Your show of beauty will not make you stronger.
So circle,circle.
Above your heads.
Waiting for your vanity to turn from pink to red.
Yes circle,circle.Around we go!
By then we'll snatch you from beyond the willow trees.
If only your souls were noticed.
If you had showed them instead.
It wouldn't have to be this way.
No tears would be shed.
Letting it happen like this, you'd think it's murder or theft.
But you have lost consciousness in your hearts.
So we will take what's left.

Diarra Boatswain Poem
Hey step right up,come on down!
Welcome to Africa!
I'm not like other dogs.
Though I am pleased to eat you!
On second thought, for now,I might just go away.
Because if the lions catch you,I won't be welcomed to stay.
The last thing you'll be hearing is my laughter.
Don't get mad if I think you're but a joke.
My smile is your first sight.
Especially late at night.
I rip zebras apart, nothing is nicer.
Yes I'm greedy with food, but I'm no miser.
That is unless you have a mane and roar all day.
Because I'll only share with family anyway.
I have two faces with many traces.
I hunt in the day,you see.
But don't let that deceive you.
Your beliefs will succeed to show you that it's true,I'm a carcass theif!
Looks like Simba won't be eating you tonight!
I think life is a joke,a comedy.
Smiles are my religion!
And I'll make a mockery of you until I'm gone!
I take nothing seriously.
Not like I can anyway so,I just give in to it.
You'll never hear me speak,I've been cursed with never ending laughter!
No one will ever see the true sadness in my tears of joy.
Though if I die,I'll never be defeated!
Because I'll have the last laugh!

Diarra Boatswain Poem
Drop me into the sea of dark.
Where my journey has no certain end.
Out of the atmosphere.
Of what I know was your hands.
You don’t need to cry about it.
I’ve seen this before.
I’ll walk this storm drain now and forevermore.
We’ll see about that!
Don’t give in,don’t give search.
Time will soon show the way.
It will tell if I’m well or if I’m sure to decay.
Please don’t cry,don’t feel bad.
We all rise.
We all fall.
Like babies in trees.
We come down cradle and all!
Lost me to the wrath of the storm.
You might not have me anymore.
Please I’m telling you.
Find a new me so you can move on.
Go!
I know that one won’t be the same.
And maybe you are who is to blame.
But forgiveness has not gone away.
Instead,its taken me.
Water,dark all around.
Please don’t follow.
Not a voice or a sound.
It’s so hollow.
Where were we heading off to up there?
One day I’ll slip your mind.
Your form of closure.
That’s a good thing.
There’s too much exposure to the poisons that would flood your mind.
Down here!
Watch me slip through the hole in the ground.
Where I’m lost and the unknown is found.
Where am I going?
Only the run off will answer.
No!
You know you didn’t lose me in vain.
There’s always sunshine after the rain.
I’m what it consumes.
Don’t stay deep in the gloom.
You’re trying so hard to wish me back.
I’m probably far,but I can’t be exact.
I won’t forget you.
I have no regrets too.
Figure things out in the end.
There’s no need to pretend.
You’ll never get lost!
Lost me to the tears of the storm.
Lightning crashing.
Thunder its roar.
And I’m what it consumed.
I can’t promise I’ll come back soon!
It makes you feel so empty and cold.
Just remember,you must stay bold.
You don’t know that nothing leaves.
Yet nothing ever stays.
My fate will hide away!
Out of sight,out of mind.
That’s all that’s left to guide you.
Looking back, you will find mistakes are far behind you.
Out of sight,out of mind.
What you lose in the past,do not resent.
Far ahead you will find.
There are gifts buried in the present.

Diarra Boatswain Poem
When the world is cold,Frost is gold.
Yet Empty silver still grows.
Have no control over what is to come of it.
Still,I am to stand in motion.
Oh what the rain covets most,a final host.
A soliloquy of my stance.
Voiceless is the song.
However,audible is its message.
Sing of the pouring rain.
Please do it not in vain.
Ice,a perfect touch.
Swallow your hypothermia.
Dance on its terrain.
We freeze all the same.
Soon the morning will await.
Until our tears flood the gates.
Reverse their flow,lose all control!
Until there is nothing.
Now rain goes to sleep,no voices are heard.
We have reached the end,a sonata alive.

Diarra Boatswain Poem
I only tell of sunny hours.
I'll let that echo in your head.
I won't leave any time unsaid.
I know you wouldn't miss that,ok?
My life will flow away when flowers close.
And I will go into Lunar sleep.
She's not my goddess,so don't judge me.
Don't you come wasting your time,ok?
Please don't come at night.
When the moon is bright.
I'll be awake again when the sun comes.
Because the sun eats the moon when the moon can't eat it.
I'll turn from hour to hour,I won't let you down.
The dark will be too gone to harm me.
Good flourishes from the light.
When bad forces it to embark on the journey through the dark.
Liars, liars, every shadow by then is on fire.
Can't be trusted.
Take it from me and my own sliver of darkness.
Keep on watching me,watch my shadow moving.
This shadow is of my own.
But not of the same control.
A body gave me this soul.
Ball of fire,great solar.
Moving through the sky until dark.
It controls my movements until the black appears.
When the world isn't blind but lost its time.
I can't help but to be so wise again.
I'll show you how time descends.
24 hours and my shadow is shaking.
I am time's wings and I keep on breaking.
Someday I'll stop when the sun stops shining.
It will soon join in a realigning.
As my shadow and I will.

Diarra Boatswain Poem
In a sea of white lives one stone of black.
I'm not like the others,by color or my acts.
Many seem to run and others seem to crawl.
But I prefer to walk until I fall.
My heart is slowly churning inside a white abyss.
Why do all the other sheep become amalgamated like this?
Slaves to such conformity from the shepherd's hand.
I resist,I refuse to become meat as he plans!
Do you know what's at the end of this rabbit hole?
You're all cotton and I am cole.
You will never see the truth like me.
I'm not blind to what you can see.
For every fence I come across,I'll kick it down.
I'll make myself lost in you all, wherever I'm found.
If out of options,I'll run through the slaughter house.
And while I'm there I'll conspire with the cows.
I know the risks aren't as thin as glass.
Though I won't stop running until I scream ''I'm free at last!''
Outnumbered by the beast and man.
I must do what I can.
Run my legs to the ground from every bloody hound.
For I know if I run, they'll track me down.
They send me running past the trees.
Through my wool I feel the rushing breeze.
Now all will know that I dug myself out of the rabbit's hole.
Free falling to my goal.
With my cunning unfurled,I'll see the world.
I am the night sky.
Watching the clouds take flight.
They shall take their place in heaven.
Many more than seven.
I'll hear their cries.
While from the forest,I watch the sun rise.
As the truth is revealed to their eyes.

Diarra Boatswain Poem
Back then diamonds died.
And the darkness cried.
All because they faced love, dear obsidian.
Hatred has no face and it was soon erased.
The amorousness filtered out the silence in the air.
And vehemence was what it left.
Perpetual was the hunger for it.
Everyday the love became a distant voice.
You had a thirst for it.
Because you came for me.
Trapped in disquietude.
A wall by wall servitude.
My effervescence for you kept the pain away!
And your crying would not stop because it lived on.
A forgotten fervidness has regained my soul.
That's what reverence came from your heart.
A generation divine formed when the two combined.
Veneration had never left my mind.
If you look much deeper,in it,you will find.
That I loved you all these years.
Evanescent are my tears.
Watch them blow away in the wind.
Back when you died.
And my existence cried.
I brought you back to me.
Now we're together again, from beginning to end.
And all because we loved,my dear obsidian.

Diarra Boatswain Poem
On the day that Spring would start,
You had gotten to my heart.
We were more than friends.
And we would be until the end.
You are so loyal to me.
Your friends can not see what you see.
For we had a love that was forbidden.
So we kept it hidden.
I run,you hide.
Until dark outside.
Going somewhere we could love in peace.
You stayed by my side, even when troubles wouldn't cease.
Summer came so sweetly.
And its sun had shone so neatly.
Together for an eternity!
Our fraternity.
Brown and orange of the leaves.
That is what of Fall that the world receives.
A hero deeply loved a thief.
That to others was but grief.
So they chased us to And fro.
Even deep in winter's snow.
And when Spring returned its call,I had to answer for it all.
They wanted me,not you.
You didn't want to give me up,but you know that was true.
Don't worry I will be ok.
Blossom trees grow petals on Spring day.
My absence grew your tears.
Our separation was your fear.
Blossom petals blew in the air.
And soon you knew what to do without A care.
A cliff where we would meet.
You ran there as fast as you could, but I couldn't be beat.
Like blossoms to trees,I must depart.
So that things may soon restart.
You knew that for your sake,it was best this way.
But your heart started to decay.
I gave you a memory of me.
It was your gift,it was the key.
If you let me go,I'll wait for you.
You'll always be here after what we've been through.
Look at us as a way to remind.
That we are the children who left Spring behind.
I climbed the rainbow and saw a smile on your face.
Goodbye my love, then gone without a trace.
Just like the rainbow you earned.
I'm gone so fast but I'm free at last.
I promise I'll return.

Diarra Boatswain Poem
Red,orange, yellow descends to the earth below.
And the sky keeps glowing from blue to gold.
I'm walking on this brick road.
Through the trees that unfold their leafy tears.
Releasing with a sound that truly no one hears.
Sidewalks with crunchy skin.
Surrounds me outside and within.
Where have they been?
Pumpkin spice eyes help me realize a finish.
You're all done carving a face of your love into my heart.
What a work of art.
I really hope that it wasn't as hard as the wind blowing.
Like a pumpkin shell, empty me out.
Plant my soul like a seed into the ground.
Let it grow into a season of wonders.
All of them the shade of fathers, sons, brothers, daughters and mothers.
Bring them together like no other can.
Make enemies want to call each other friend.
There's nothing like the warm sugar and spice of life.
But if you don't know what it taste like, you'd better take a slice.
