Embalmed

“Embalmed” 12/24/18
“Pain has turned to hurt, and turns another page,
All that’s left inside, this growing, vengeful rage.
For what you do not see, I will not give away,
I cast you now aside, so you cannot betray.
I trusted you before, and now I’m much more wise,
No more can you deceive, immune now, to all your lies.
All I gave was love, for you to cast away,
Black of night consumed, to yield to dark of day.
A story never read, a love that remained untold,
I die each day once more, this corpse that you turned cold.”

I like the way you have personified yourself as a corpse. Well-done, Erik. Thank you for posting this. I liked it from the beginning to the very last word. Please keep sharing, and welcome to Soup!
