Here To Remind You

See that crack on your face?
That's for more light to come in
See the line on your belly?
That's where God drew a line

Dry, and wrinkled hands that toil
That's a Mother's love that never tires
Marks on your stomach and thighs
Those are just there to remind you, you survived

See those worn jeans that you wear?
They became interwoven cause you kept them
Fitting perfectly; they love the way they feel on you
They aren't just any old worn pair of jeans

Damaged heart-born with a hole
That's to remind us how we aren't complete
Not yet, until we are filled with God's love
Love from children, family, friends and spouses

See, all your supposed damaged goods
Are just reminders that we are more than survivors
Even if we lost some things along the way
A journey for all to make on this earth we live
