Growing Up In the Ghetto

Growing up in the Ghetto, A rat infested den, never realizing the shape they're in.
Hole in the wall lets the bitter cold drift in on a cold and windy day,
Growing up in the Ghetto, there's very little time to play.
Shoeless! crying out! Hunger in pain,
Growing up in the Ghetto, who's really to blame?

Growing up in the Ghetto makes you lose gratitude, stops you from saying thank you,
keeps hate a constant Relative in all home life.

Growing up in the Ghetto doesn't stop the garbage from piling, doesn't stop an old mother from bowing, but it is stuck in constant Memory in the back of our minds.

Growing up in the Ghetto....

"makes you lose gratitude, stops you from saying thank you." Yes, this is certainly what it does. A powerful write.
