Unselfish Love

I was only three
What a gift you had given me!
A chance for a better life
To grow up and be someone`s wife.
You didn`t walk me down the aisle.
Or hear me say those wedding vows.
I remember the day they came for me
Dad left the house leaving mom to pack for me.
I know both of your hearts broke.
My arms reaching and crying my heart broke.
All those years apart.
I carried my love for you in my heart.
The parents I got are good to me.
Thank you both for loving me.
