Distance

Bring back memories,
Hold on to sunny days,
It feels like centuries,
Since we parted ways.

New journeys were bound,
Away from our hometown,
Dreams were scattered around,
Distance let us down.

I breathe loneliness,
Missing your lovely smile,
I search for completeness,
While counting each mile.

The sky is light blue,
But my heart is dark gray,
I miss you oh so true,
you’re too far away.

Bring back memories,
Hold on to sunny days,
It feels like centuries,
Since we parted ways.

I like your lines "I breathe lonliness...search for completeness while counting each mile." I also like "distance let us down." however, I think maybe if you ended it differently - like with something more powerful than just repeating the first stanza, might help your poem be stronger. Also, think about how your situation is unique, what it's like, and not generalities. Adding key details or analogies can really improve what is already a good start.
