Belief

I've never been one for prayer
since the death of my sister.
I lost all my faith,
I thought God was a liar.

He took away all who
were important in my life
all who were good
and did'nt deserve to die.

Until one day I got shot
and nearly lost my life
I asked for a preacher,
and he came with his wife

As I lay there in pain
we took each others hands,
the warmth came over me
like laying on warm sand.

I had this unbelievable feeling,
of relief and of ease
my belief had come back
and now I feel the peace.
