Kelly Mcmanis Poem
Dark is the night,
Darker the soul,
Fathomless depths,
Stories untold...
Vision now gone,
Reliance on touch,
Grappling for anything,
Stumbling so much...
Inner reflection,
Compounds your fear,
For years of ignorance,
Make salvation unclear.
Only the strong survive,
As seen throughout time,
Weakness your burden,
A punishable crime...
Until cleansing the soul,
Deeper you fall,
Will light again shine,
Or shall in darkness you crawl?
Choose wisely,
For chances given are few,
Consequences may vary,
But blame falls only on YOU...

Kelly Mcmanis Poem
At the end of the tunnel,
There's always a light,
Sometimes soft,
At other times bright...
But the length of the tunnel,
Determines your relief,
Expecting to see it,
A foolish belief...
Nothing is certain,
As seen by the night,
For the sun does set,
A suppression of light...
"Clear as day",
A reference to how we "see",
But clarity is fickle,
And may not always be...
So acknowledge the sun,
For a new day is born...
If taken for granted,
Forever shall you mourn.

Kelly Mcmanis Poem
Why have I never seen before
A sun that shines this bright?
Why have I never known before
This peace I feel at night?
For so many years
The days were gray,
And the nights as black as coal…
With an agony
That loomed inside,
Torturing my heart and soul.
There was something missing,
Or something lost…
Something that made me incomplete.
And with each new day,
That emptiness
Festered lies and evil deceit.
But You never fled,
Always by my side,
And one day I felt You there…
Asking if You would still walk with me,
In a silent moment of prayer…
Since that day,
The gray is gone,
And for what was missing from my soul…
I no longer feel the need to search,
For, through You,
I now am whole.
