Kristin Cook Poem
Is it possible the sun is just an angry star?
Rising calmly with the cool morning air,
but never recognized for it's contributions
and abilities to help love grow.
Relying on the wind for a chill breeze
as it curses the land with rays of heat
and haunts the trees with shadows of rage.
Until it's emotions have finally piqued with frustration,
does the sky turn red, and do you realize
you have taken for granted the light of the world
as it falls furiously behind the mountain,
only to face another ungrateful day.

Kristin Cook Poem
Losing you, rescued my spirit.
Like a Phoenix rising from ashes,
I caught fire from all the second chances.
I spread my wings and fly
A mystic flight of oblivion
and only lingering embers of saudade.

Kristin Cook Poem
You held my heart in your hands
And forced me to take it back
I wore your cross on my back
Crying let me love you, let me save you
My heart grew to heavy to hold
Your cross sprouted thorns
Light couldn’t shine on your bosky character
And I started glowing at night
The world slowed for a moment
Sound had no noise
Scent had no smell
Your noble spirit was gone
And you hand over your ring
I cry let me love you, let me save you
As your cross crashes down from my shoulders
And I drag my heart back in chains
through the ashes of your love

Kristin Cook Poem
You point your finger
You laugh at our shame
You boast of your body
and lack judgment of fame
You beg for attention
And call it dimension
You cry for acknowledgement
And welcome any argument
You blame everyone but yourself
We are all wicked,
We are all cruel,
You fail to face humility
and yet, we are the fool
What a lonely life you lead
When you’re always right
And cause unity to secede
Everyone is so self righteous
Forgive me for naming the injustice
Call me friend or call me foe
It really doesn’t matter though
When you’re the only one I see eating crow.

Kristin Cook Poem
I felt the adrenaline in my veins.
I've seen the rage in my eyes.
I've smelled the fear in your lies.
You stood like a coward
defeated by the demons you empowered.
You may have chose our path,
but I embodied my wrath
with clinched fists and a firm voice
"I hope you rot in hell" was my choice
I smiled with dignity,
set fire to the mystery,
as I drink from my glass of victory.
Redemption with Authenticity.

Kristin Cook Poem
She was a storm
that kept you calm
a passionate challenge and defeat
She was unpredictable
like lightning
igniting your fire
and keeping you awestruck
She was forceful
like a tornado
sweeping through your mind
captivating your thoughts
She was intense
like a blizzard
making you anxious
for the warmth of her body
She was dangerous
like a hurricane
flooding your soul
and stealing your heart
She would let you drown
so she could save you with her kiss.

Kristin Cook Poem
I built these walls
To protect my heart
I got trapped inside
I thought it was smart
If I can’t feel, I can heal
A cold, lonely path
A victim of defensive wrath
I’ll push you away and beg you stay
Aware of my weakness
And profound in my strength
Scared of the courage it takes
To risk the heartaches
I’ve suffered through pain
The memory makes me go insane
Why does it hurt so bad?
Love shouldn’t drive you mad
All I’m losing is time
And I thought I was in my prime
Clueless about life
Confused about love
Emotionless thereof
