Tshegofatso Pilane Poem
Your issues incoherently
became mine
Still wondering how did I survive
From your vicious past
And your troubled present
Was it just me turning a blind eye?
Or me suffocating in my own denial,
Perhaps it could've also been my pride
However this might have all started out
I still can't believe I fell for your petty truth
And with all that has happened,
It still feels like I want to put a gun to
your head
And perhaps pull the trigger to take you
of your misery
That I so dismally failed to do
But don't you care that I have my own
issues too?
I love you more than I hate you but not
more than I like you
I never wanted to turn back to the cries
of fear afraid that I might start a fire
But the value of my teardrops keeps my face dry
Knowing that your existence is more than
my selfish desire.

Tshegofatso Pilane Poem
The distance between time and space
Can't compare to the distance I see
in his face
But her eyes beam light years of sorrow
Hidden by the daggers of heartbreak
Drizzled with short term promises
But it was her who was hollow
The beauty of her smile sets worlds aflame
However she falls victim to pain
In the darkness of the night his love for
her felt like a cascade of everlasting truth
Lucky for her she was wise enough to
have a state of tranquility
That sooner manifested into a higher state of wisdom
Or maybe it was just a conspiracy
Or a theory sending frequencies cosmos away
With no one to hear her silent cries
As her voice faded in the distance
Sadly so did her endurance and abundance
of positivity
