Katie Kallenberger Poem
Eyes Fog,
Collapsing to the Earth
My body hits plush grass.
I exhale with content,
My anchor to this world wavers.
Sinking,
Deep, Deep, Deep,
Darkness consumes.
I welcome it,
Arms outstretched,
I am not afraid.
The blackness fills me.
I let go,
Worries vanishing,
I hover between nothingness.
Am I alive....
Do I care?
Wishing to linger but something propels me upward
Flying through the darkness,
Higher, Higher, Higher.
That which was destroyed,
Made complete.
Eyes open,
The blackness dissipated,
Sky blue.
The ground beneath me is
Hard,
Cold,
Unmoving.
I feel peace.
