The Path of Dorian

O' the case of Dorian
progressing through the sea,
battering the Bahamas
then shifting to a "three",
Have you seen the damage caused,
how islands lie in rubble?
Property and lives were lost
resulting from your trouble!

Now we wait so anxiously
to know the fullest measure
of this great calamity
ending in displeasure.
Soon will come the future day
when hurricanes desist.
Dorian, I'm pleased to say,
you will not be missed.

Wake Me Up

A plea of the unborn child to its mother.

Wake Me Up

When the time is ripe, awaken me!
I long to see your world.
How many blessings there will be;
They're soon to be unfurled!
I'll see you with my eager eyes,
Your soothing voice I'll hear.
One day I'll thank Jehovah God
that you have kept me near.

I want to grasp your finger, please,
and feel your warm embrace.
I want to heartily reflect
the smile upon your face.
I want to learn to walk and talk
and say my ABC's.
I want to learn of animals
and count my 123's.

I'll learn these things if you teach me,
yes, I will learn them so.
I'll hug you tightly every day
and never let you go.

I'll need your comfort when I cry;
At times, life can be rough.
However, I think you will find
Your love will be enough.
In fact, I'll bring you days of joy
where you are feeling pain,
and just as you have cared for me,
You'll see me do the same.

When time is ripe, please, let me live;
I want to wake up too!
I want to live a joyful life.
I want to cherish you.
Please wake me up when time has come.
Please don't send me away.
A precious gift you now possess
Miraculous each day!

If I Had a Son

If I had a son,
he would surely be a man-
one Jehovah loves,
for I would teach him his commands,
the ways to value Truth.

If I had a son,
he'd never have to fear,
for he would know just what it's like
to keep Jehovah near.
If a woman casts her eyes
upon his focused life,
then I'd teach him how to find
the best example of a wife.

I would keep him close
as I teach him how to work,
how to be the man he is,
how to cherish what he's earned.
Most of all these things that I
would show him with each day,
there's how to trust Jehovah God-
how to keep his way.

The Woman of Jehovah

Look,
standing on the pathway
of Jehovah's favor,
Here's the sister I have sought
adorned with love and deep compassion!
She clothes herself with modesty,
humble is her demeanor,
and her heartfelt dedication
surpasses what the eye can see.
Could there be a truer woman
than this one for me?

She knows well what is entailed
staying faithful to the end-
cherishing loyalty to Jehovah,
our loyal Father, God and Friend.
There is not a doubt I have,
we will cherish what we share-
This love, ever reciprocated.
She will always have my heart, and
I will always be there.

Autumn Forest

Ah! The quietness of nature!
Here it all is captured
by a running river
racing to its end.
I can hear the breath of water
which in itself never falters.
I feel all but lonely
with Jehovah- my Friend.
Scattered leaves of many colors:
holding yellow, brown, red and orange.
Softened branches at last fallen
answer gravity's calling.
Life's teeming with his creation
in scenes like this through many nations.
What proof in such excellence
could whisper in ungratefulness,
Jehovah God does not exist?

She Would Be Wonderful

O' Jehovah
if I may have the honor,
let her be as beautiful
as petals of a flower.
Let her be as humble
as a beloved servant.
Let her be as joyful,
quiet and modest.
May she be as spiritual-
Just as you desire.

Teach me how to love her so deeply
she'll never wonder for how long.
Deeper than the deepest oceans.
So deep that words are not required.
No, just a glance that spells "Forever".

To be certain,
I'll utter this
Just loud enough to be heard,
"I love you very much."

One Year Further

We've progressed
on year further
in our everlasting bond.
We have made it
through our trials,
letting heartfelt love prevail.
Looking forward
we're progressing
through the many years beyond,
Trusting in
our God Jehovah,
knowing true love never fails.

We are taking
one step further
with the coming of each year.
Giving all
in deep compassion,
letting God's word guide our lives.
It takes courage
and endurance
passing trials, perhaps through tears.
Nonetheless,
our love shall endure
through to the arriving paradise.

I Found My Love

I met my lovely candy bar
among the sweetest gifts in life-
the sweetest gift on earth by far-
a woman to be called my wife.

I found her in a golden box,
a ribbon wrapped around her waist.
Of awesome features are her locks
a joyful smile and handsome face.

I listen to her graceful words
and long to know her fruitful heart.
Her songs are sweeter than the birds
and lightly sung as if a harp.

Indeed, I found this special girl;
Together we'll conquer the world.

Where Did You Go - of the Canticles

Where did you go, my only beloved?
I look to the wind, yet no sign I see.
Travelling roads, I search with fervor.
Your presence disappeared from me.
Why did you scatter oh so swiftly
Without telling me goodbye?
Will you return and do so quickly
or are my hopes left high and dry?
Where did you go my dear beloved?
When can I ever see your face?
Since you were lost beyond the valleys
my joy and happiness have been erased.
I am anxious since you have gone
though I'm not saddened yet to tears.
Where did you go, my only beloved,
I'll go with you there
or wait for you here.

If I Had a Daughter

If I had a daughter,
she would be the gorgeous image
of Jehovah's favor.
Even her adornment-
marked by love and her compassion.
She would be a modest woman
loved forever by Jehovah.

If I had a daughter,
she would be protected.
I would never give her over
to a man who doesn't love her.
She would have my deep affection.
When she calls me, I will answer.
I would listen, I would teach her
with Jehovah's guidance.

If I had a daughter,
I can't picture her abandoned.
Rather I would have her
know she has a happy, loving father
and she has him forever.
